Athletic Center

In 1959, when the current field house was built, Georgetown Preparatory School had 200 students and 13 athletic teams. Today, Prep’s 450 students and 28 teams have outgrown the field house. Each season, nearly half of the students don’t participate in organized team sports. The new facility will provide a venue for students to be part of a significantly expanded intramural program and other recreational activities on campus. Construction, which will begin later this spring, is expected to take 18 months.

 The new athletic center will include:

• 200 meter indoor track

• 6,000 square foot weight training/fitness room

• 1,000 seat competition basketball gym

• 10 lane competition pool

• Wrestling room

• Expanded locker rooms and coaches’ offices

• Athletic Hall of Fame
