Dear parents and friends,
Hello to everyone back in the United States. We are all great and having a good time. We've been eating exotic foods, listening to traditional music, and taking boat rides through the Mekong. Today we went with Tam and Sinh Café to the Mekong Delta for one day. We took a two-hour bus ride to a doc where we got on a large boat that took us to a coconut island. We ate coconuts, drank coconut juice, ate coconut with rice, and had spring rolls with coconut. We then took another boat to a coconut candy factory (sweat shop) where they made thousands of little candies and rice wine with honey and banana. We then went to a honey factory where we enjoyed tea with honey, traditional Mekong music and swarms of bees. We rowed some little boats through canals and then took a big boat back to the bus that to us to our wonderful Hotel Sofitel in Saigon.
Tonight we ate at a restaurant that had lots of neat foods. I had tofu and fried fish. Some guys had porcupine and pigeon. At the restaurant they had Vietnamese karaoke where the waiters would dance around a lot. Tonight some guys went to club 2000 to do some dancing. I am exhausted from the long day and decided to stay in. We are all wonderful and thinking of you.
Love,
Martin
