Sophomore Service

"Finding God in All Things"

Things to do:

1. Research possible placements and contact those you are interested in.
2. Fill out service proposal, have it signed by your parents or guardian, and hand in to you religion teacher by Wednesday, October 19.
3. Complete at least 8 hours of service for that organization
4. Turn in the Supervisor's evaluation form, verifying your service, by Friday, February 24th.
5. Complete reflection and turn in to your religion teacher on the date assigned.

Points to remember:

• Your service must be direct, interpersonal, service to someone in an underprivileged position: homeless men or women, children with autism, the elderly, for example.
• Your proposal will not be accepted without your parent/guardian's signature.
• Since you are going to be doing a reflection on your service, you might want to keep a journal or keep the reflection question in your head while doing the service.
• If you go to your placement multiple times, use the timesheet provided on the web site.
• If you have to change projects, you must submit another service proposal to the Christian Service Director BEFORE you start your new placement.
• Join the Arrupe Society if you wish to serve on a regular basis or beyond the 8 hour requirement.
